Michal Cerny is a PhD student at Czech Technical University in Prague, Faculty of Transportation Sciences, Department of Air Transport. He is a researcher in the UTM Lab at Czech Technical University in Prague. He is also involved with the Air Navigation Services of the Czech Republic regarding SESAR projects and has experience with advanced UAS operations as a remote pilot.
His publication record began with the proposal of a Counter-UAS system solution for international airports. He also published work regarding rules for the implementation of U-space Airspace in the Czech Republic. His main focus is on GNSS and mobile network technology in relation to the U-space, its services, and the overall integration of this concept into existing airspace.
At the Czech Technical University in Prague he is a supervisor of multiple student thesis regarding UAS operations and integration into the airspace. He also gives lectures including student projects aimed at Unmanned Aircraft Systems.
