On 21 December, 2006, Estonian Aviation Academy (former Tartu Aviation College) established a fund (ELA Fund). The aim of it is to promote Estonian aviation education, to raise the level of aviation safety and to involve the public in financing aviation education. The finances of the Fund are managed by SA Tartu Kultuurkapital.
The Fund provides different scholarships and grants to Academy students.
The aim and the conditions of awarding a certain scholarship shall be determined by the decision made by the Council of the Fund or in its statutes considering the donators wishes and aims, in case there are any.
The Fund is open to donations by any individual or legal persons. Pursuant to the respective legislative acts of the Republic of Estonia the donations are non-taxable.
Tallinna Lennujaam AS, Lennuliiklusteeninduse AS, Fort Aero AS and Panaviatic Maintenance AS scholarships are being funded by corresponding organizations.
Otto Taur scholarship for young airplane piloting students and Pühajärve scholarship for Aviation Communication and Navigation Systems, Aviation Management and Aircraft Engineering students are being funded by other individual or legal persons.
The donations to the Estonian Aviation Academy Fund can be transferred to the following accounts of Tartu Kultuurkapital. The cue word “ELA Fond” and scholarship name.
