Databases
All of the databases listed below are freely accessible via IP-based access from the Academy’s network. To access them from a home network, a username and password are required;
request user login details from the librarian or use the Proxy.
We recommend starting your information search with EBSCO, offers a variety of full text databases (ERIC, Academic Search Complete, Business Source Complete, MasterFILE, Medline etc) and contains scholarly journals, newspapers, yearbooks, and other resources.
Multidisciplinary databases
Full access while connected to the Academy’s network. Different remote access options are available. For general remote access to all the databases through Proxy server, please contact the librarian (raamatukogu@eava.ee).
- ProQuest Ebook Central multidisciplinary e-book platform (previous ebrary). For remote access, request the ProQuest account here.
- ScienceDirect (Elsevier) offers e-journals published by Elsevier in four major fields - medicine, life sciences, social sciences, and engineering. Remote access possible via institutional login (Estonian Aviation Academy) with @eava.ee email account.
- Scopus (Elsevier) includes Scopus AI - Scopus is the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature, with bibliometrics tools to track, analyze and visualize research. Access is the same as for ScienceDirect. Read more about Scopus from Scopus Quick Reference Guide.
- SAGE Journals offers multidisciplinary e-journals published by SAGE.
- Wiley Online Library offers e-journals published by Wiley from 1997.
- Oxford Academic (Oxford University Press) offers access to all OUP e-journals from 1996.
- Cambridge University Press offers e-journals published by Cambridge University Press.
- Taylor & Francis Online offers e-journals published by Taylor & Francis.

- EUROCAE – European Organisation for Civil Aviation Equipment. All EUROCAE standards are for internal use only. To gain access, please contact the librarian.
- ASTM Compass – Access to Volume 15.09: Aircraft Systems, General Aviation Aircraft. To use, create an account with your @eava.ee email. See the user guide for instructions.
- ICAO – International Civil Aviation Organization. All ICAO standards are for internal use only. To gain access, please contact the librarian.
Open Access (OA) databases
- Dspace - Tartu University repository for all electronic materials including theses, e-publications, books, manuscripts, images etc. (Some materials are available only with UT account).
- Digiriiul - provides access to electronic materials (e-books, thesis, reports etc) of Estonian Academy of Security Science.
- Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) - index contains almost 17 500 peer-reviewed, open access journals covering all areas of science, technology, medicine, social sciences, arts and humanities.
- Open Access Publishing in European Networks (OAPEN) - online library of peer-reviewed open access books.
- BASE - a search engine for academic web resources by Bielefeld University project. It provides more than 240 million documents from more than 8,000 content providers. You can access the full texts of about 60% of the indexed documents for free (Open Access).
- Google Scholar - a Google search engine for academic resources. Not everything is freely accessed, but it gives a good overview of what is out there.
