Databases
All of the databases listed below under multidisciplinary databases are freely accessible via IP-based access from the Academy’s network. To access them from a home network, a proxy connection should be established, however, some databases provide different remote access options. Ask more information from the library.
We recommend starting your search in EBSCO Discovery Service, which allows you to search multiple academic databases and library e-resources at once.
Multidisciplinary databases

- EBSCOhost database includes ERIC, Academic Search Complete, Business Source Complete, MasterFILE, and MEDLINE. For remote access with a password, contact the library.
- ProQuest Ebook Central is a multidisciplinary e-book platform providing academic books in many fields, including engineering, business, and social sciences.
For remote access, request the ProQuest account here.
- ScienceDirect (Elsevier) offers e-journals published by Elsevier in four major fields - medicine, life sciences, social sciences, and engineering. Remote access possible via institutional login (Estonian Aviation Academy) with @eava.ee email account.
- Scopus (Elsevier) includes Scopus AI - is the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature, with bibliometrics tools to track, analyze and visualize research. Access is the same as for ScienceDirect. Read more about Scopus from Scopus Quick Reference Guide.
- SAGE Journals offers a multidisciplinary collection of academic journals, particularly strong in social sciences, education, and management.
- Wiley Online Library is a platform offering academic journals across many fields, including engineering, natural sciences, medicine, and social sciences.
- Oxford Academic (Oxford University Press) offers access to all academic journals in a wide range of fields, including humanities, social sciences, law, and medicine.
- Cambridge University Press offers academic journals published by Cambridge University Press covering a broad range of disciplines.
- Taylor & Francis Online has a large collection of academic journals in social sciences, humanities, engineering, and natural sciences.
- IEEE Xplore offers publications in engineering, electronics, and information technology. Access is currently available only to Open Access materials; for full-text articles, please get in touch with the library.

- EUROCAE – European Organisation for Civil Aviation Equipment. All EUROCAE standards are for internal use only. To gain access, please contact the librarian.
- ASTM Compass – Access to Volume 15.09: Aircraft Systems, General Aviation Aircraft. To use, create an account with your @eava.ee email. See the user guide for instructions.
- ICAO – International Civil Aviation Organization. All ICAO standards are for internal use only. To gain access, please contact the librarian.
Open Access (OA) databases
- Dspace - Tartu University repository for all electronic materials including theses, e-publications, books, manuscripts, images etc. (Some materials are available only with UT account).
- Digiriiul - provides access to electronic materials (e-books, thesis, reports etc) of Estonian Academy of Security Science.
- Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) - index contains almost 17 500 peer-reviewed, open access journals covering all areas of science, technology, medicine, social sciences, arts and humanities.
- Open Access Publishing in European Networks (OAPEN) - online library of peer-reviewed open access books.
- BASE - a search engine for academic web resources by Bielefeld University project. It provides more than 240 million documents from more than 8,000 content providers. You can access the full texts of about 60% of the indexed documents for free (Open Access).
- Google Scholar - a Google search engine for academic resources. Not everything is freely accessed, but it gives a good overview of what is out there.
