Ongoing projects:
Constructive collaboration among stakeholders for effective LSP classes in the field of Higher and Professional Higher Education
Objective/outcome: the purpose of the project is to enhance the cooperation between speciality and language teachers and thereby improve the quality of LSP (Language for Specific Purpose) teaching. The project contributes to the development of Nordic and Baltic cooperation in higher education by sharing best practices and results.

Objective/outcome: the programme aims to expand engineering education to various target groups, thereby raising awareness of aviation engineering studies. The goal is to increase the number of applicants to the Estonian Aviation Academy's Aeronautical Engineering curriculum, ultimately allowing for an increase in study places.
Additionally, the programme seeks to broaden opportunities for general education, vocational, and hobby schools by offering flexible engineering elective courses. This will help integrate engineering education more effectively into both the compulsory curriculum and extracurricular education.
The programme also focuses on harmonizing the skill levels of students entering engineering studies, ensuring a smoother learning experience and reducing dropout rates. Through mentorship programmes, specialized counseling, preparatory courses (including practical skills), and participation in industry-related competitions, students can transition more seamlessly between education levels, gain positive learning experiences, and enhance their motivation to study engineering.
Goals:
Increase the number of applicants – promote engineering education in society and increase the number of candidates applying to higher education by raising awareness among students and teachers in general education, vocational, and hobby schools, with a special emphasis on activities targeted at girls.
Align education with labor market and societal needs – strengthen collaboration with the defense sector, where the importance of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) has grown. Additionally, enhance cooperation with general education, vocational, and hobby schools to make engineering education more accessible in suitable learning formats.
Reduce dropout rates – decrease the dropout rate in the Aeronautical Engineering curriculum by increasing student motivation and developing support systems.

Developing skills supporting the green shift
Objective/outcome: the objective of the project is to create flexible learning opportunities in entrepreneurship that meet the development needs of the labor market for implementing the green transition. This includes offering education where higher education institutions and vocational schools can provide companies with opportunities to train existing personnel and prepare new competent professionals in green skills.

Estonian Aviation Academy's internship 2021-2022 (call for proposals "Supporting the Cooperation between Employers and Educational Institutions in the Development of the Internship System")
Objective/outcome: as a result company staff, who are the internship supervisors, are trained and teaching staff are provided with traineeship opportunities in different companies. In addition, experts are involved in teaching.

Improving the learning and research and development capacity of the Aviation Academy in the field of remotely piloted aircraft and promoting internationalization (ELASTRA)
Objective/outcome: increase the competitiveness of the Estonian Aviation Academy and the ability to serve society in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as to increase the international movement of students and lecturers. The project will increase the learning and development capacity of remotely piloted aircraft and develop an internationalization strategy.

Practical Academy
Objective/outcome: to support students' professional practice in the company, to achieve the maximum efficiency of the practice and to support the development of EAVA lecturers. To achieve this goal, employees of companies who are internship supervisors are trained and an EAVA lecturer is allowed to do an internship in a company.
