Estonian Aviation Academy encourages the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in teaching and learning.
When using AI, academic integrity must be maintained. Plagiarism and copyright infringement are prohibited, including presenting AI-generated content as your own original work.
The reliability of AI-generated content must be critically evaluated.
When using AI, privacy rights must be respected. Personal data must not be submitted to AI tools for content generation.
For students
Students are responsible for their own learning and for achieving the intended learning outcomes.
Before using AI, consider whether it is appropriate for the specific task or whether using it might prevent you from developing an important skill.
When using AI, remember that you are responsible for the final result. Always verify AI-generated content using reliable sources.
When using AI, you must understand and be able to explain the content it generates.
Suspected cases of AI-related plagiarism will be handled in accordance with the “Procedure for Handling Plagiarism Cases” section of Estonian Aviation Academy's Study Regulations.
Referencing
If you use an AI tool for assistance (e.g. editing or translating text, brainstorming ideas), no reference is required.
If you use AI-generated output as part of your work (e.g. a passage generated by a chatbot or an image created by an AI image generator), you must reference the AI tool used.
For larger research projects (e.g. a thesis), the methodology section must describe how AI was used and which tools were used. The description must clearly explain the extent and manner of AI use in the work.
When referring to facts in your text, you must cite the original sources.
