Mika Taipalus is an aviation professional with experience from private piloting throughout air traffic control to flight procedure design. He held ATC position at the Finnish Air Force test flight centre, after which he joined flight procedure design team of the Finnish Air Navigation Service Provider. One of his main design tasks was in the parallel runway project at the Helsinki-Vantaa airport.
He has also worked for the Norwegian airport and air traffic services company, Avinor, as an advisor in a project that developed accessibility and safety for regional airports using breakthrough technology called SCAT-I GBAS.
Today Mika is a Design Group Lead in Aii Corporation Ltd. / Aii Airspace Design, which was established to develop rotorcraft all-weather operations, especially in Nordic conditions, and implement EGNOS SBAS into flight operations as part of the evolving digital airport concept.
Aii supports airfields, communities, and municipalises in the implementation of instrument flight procedures and the development of landing locations, aiming to create a transportation network that is flexible, close to people, and environmentally low-impact.
