The label was established to highlight courses that support deep and meaningful learning and are aligned with the principles of contemporary teaching and learning. Through this initiative, the Academy aims to encourage continuous enhancement of teaching quality and to acknowledge the dedication of lecturers in creating engaging and learner-centred study experiences.
Applications for the recognition could be submitted by any party involved in the Academy’s teaching and learning activities, including staff members, students, programme managers and continuing education clients. The applications were evaluated by a committee consisting of programme managers, a representative of the Student Council, the Head of the Research and Development Council, the Lifelong Learning Project Manager, an Academic Developer and an Educational Technologist.

The recognition is accompanied by a one-time monetary award for the course authors and lecturers. The label remains valid for up to three academic years from the semester in which the decision is made, or until the responsible lecturer changes.
By introducing the Recognised Course of the Estonian Aviation Academy label, the Academy seeks to further strengthen a culture of educational excellence and innovation, while celebrating courses that provide outstanding learning experiences for students.
