Arrival to Estonia by air
The Estonia's international airport, Lennart Meri Tallinn Airport, provides excellent facilities and a wide variety of services. The airport's information service point is located in the departure hall. It opens 2 hours before the day's first flight and closes after the last arriving flight.
In addition, there are many connecting flights from Riga Airport in Latvia.
There is also a possibility to arrive by a private plane to Tartu Airport located right next to the conference venue. If you wish to do that, please contact the Chief Organizer Helen Kalberg for additional details (helen.kalberg@eava.ee, +372 5133 929).
Arrival to Estonia by sea
Ships from Helsinki bring thousands of travellers to Tallinn's busy passenger port each day also there is an overnight ferry link with Stockholm.
Ferries cross the Gulf of Finland between Tallinn and Helsinki many times a day, covering the distance in 2 to 2,5 hours. Ferries between Tallinn and Stockholm depart in most evenings, with the trip taking approximately 15 hours.
- The largest ferry operators are Tallink (Finland, Sweden), Viking Line (Finland) and Eckerö Line (Finland).
Arrival to Tartu
From Tallinn: Buses to Tartu depart from the Tallinn Airport bus station in every 30 minutes to 1 hour. The bus ride takes about 2h15. Tickets and timetables are available at T-Pilet and Lux Express. The ticket machines are also available at the bus station but we strongly recommend to buy the tickets in advance.
The closest train station is Ülemiste (less than 1km from the airport). There are 9 departures from both directions every day and the ride to Tartu takes about 1h50. We recommend to buy tickets in advance but you can also buy them also in trains. Fares and timetables can be found here.From Riga: There are 3 departures daily from both directions. The line is operated by Lux Express
offers connections from Riga Airport and/or Riga city center to Tartu.
How to get around in Tartu
The transportation from the city center to the converence venue and back is being offered by organizers during the conference days.
In case you would like to discover the city on your own, visit Tartu Visitor Centre in the Town Hall or Visit Tartu website 'Transportation' section to find most suitable options for your liking.
